Microsoft Edge Always On Top

Edge

Top sites in Microsoft Edge are your most visited (frequent) sites. The New tab page in Microsoft Edge displays Top sites by default. Starting with Windows 10 October 2018 Update version 1809, you can now see your top sites in the Microsoft Edge Jump List on the taskbar and Start menu. Aug 28, 2017 You can now press Ctrl+Space to set any currently active window to be always on top. Press Ctrl+Space again set the window to no longer be always on top. And if you don’t like the Ctrl+Space combination, you can change the ^SPACE part of the script to set a new keyboard shortcut.

I use Windows 10, and Microsoft Edge recently began staying on top. Whenever I would attempt to start another app, such as Word or Excel, the new window would open but not show up on my desktop. Edge would remain the top window, and I would have to minimize it in order to see the new window.

How To Stop Microsoft Edge From Taking Over

My solution? Select the Action Center icon on the taskbar — typically on the far right of the taskbar. Select Tablet Mode to turn it ON (assuming it was OFF), and then select Tablet Mode again to turn it OFF. In my case, this worked! Now Microsoft Edge no longer stays on top when I open a new window from Office, Excel, etc.
