Every item you save in 1Password is stored in a vault. You can use vaults to organize your items and share with others. Items in a vault are available to everyone with access to that vault. Your family account includes a vault called Shared that’s available to everyone you’ve invited. Select 1password families plan from 1Password. The plan Starting at $4.99 per family of 5 per month.

After you’ve created your account, you can add and remove family members at any time.

To get started, sign in to your account on 1Password.com.

Add a family member

To add family members to your account:

1. Click Invitations in the sidebar.
2. Click Invite by Email and enter their email address.
3. Click Invite.

Each family member you invite will receive their own Secret Key and create their own Master Password to use on their devices. After each account is set up, you’ll receive an email notification. Click the link in the email to confirm each account.

Remove family members

If you’re a family organizer, you can remove someone from your family account. Click People in the sidebar to either suspend accounts temporarily or remove them permanently.

Suspend an account temporarily

To temporarily revoke a family member’s access to vaults and items, suspend their account:

1. Click the name of the person you want to suspend.
2. On their details page, click More Actions and choose Suspend.

Remove a family member’s account permanently

After you remove a family member’s account, they can’t sign in to 1Password, which means:

• They lose all the items in their Private vault. Because the items weren’t shared with any other family members, no one will be able to access them.
• They lose access to all shared items, including those in the Shared vault. This won’t affect other family members’ access to shared items.

To permanently remove a family member’s account:

1. Click People in the sidebar.
2. Click the name of the person you want to remove.
3. On their details page, click More Actions and choose Delete.

With 1Password Families, you can share passwords and other items securely with your family:

• your wireless network password
• your Netflix password
• emergency credit cards
• passports

Before you can share with your family, you’ll need to invite them.

Use vaults to share

Every item you save in 1Password is stored in a vault. You can use vaults to organize your items and share with others. Items in a vault are available to everyone with access to that vault.

Your family account includes a vault called Shared that’s available to everyone you’ve invited. To share items with individual family members, create a new vault and share it with only the people who need access.

Move the items you want to share

To share an item with someone, move it to a vault that you both have access to:

• To share with everyone in your family, move the item to the included Shared vault.
• To share with specific family members, move the item to a vault you share only with them.

Stop sharing

To stop sharing an item, remove it from the vault you’re sharing:

• If you’re done with the item, move it to the Trash.
• If you want to keep the item for yourself, move it to your Private vault.
